 Serving the Seacoast region of New Hampshire to prepare for and respond to community emergencies in the region with a trained corps of local volunteers

You’re invited to apply and learn about the power of volunteers —
the power of us. In New England, we have a tradition of neighbors helping neighbors during emergencies. Now is your opportunity to take free training and become a volunteer with your fellow Seacoast residents to help support our region’s first responders. Greater Exeter Region Citizen Corps is part of a national network of local groups of volunteers committed to improving the health, safety and resiliency of communities across the country. Click here for a brochure.

By becoming an Citizen Corps volunteer:

  • Learn how to prepare yourself and your family and your town through personal preparedness activities
  • Receive free training in public health, emergency preparedness, shelters operations, first aid and CPR, search and rescue, fire safety, core disaster life support and other courses. Our volunteers will cross-train with other volunteer groups in the area.
  • Anyone age 18 and over is eligible to become a volunteer
  • We need medical professionals (retired or currently working), parents, teachers, those with foreign language skills or computer/IT skills - anyone who is interested in helping to support our region's first responders in an emergency.
  • Become part of a network of community-minded individuals who work together to help their neighbors in times of need.

 Sign Up Now for Our Free Community Emergency Preparedness Course

Learn the skills to help take care of yourself, family, neighbors and others in the event of an emergency through the free Citizen Corps training in Community Emergency Preparedness. This course covers many topics, including: Family and workplace preparedness; disaster psychology; safety strategies in a terror attack; fire safety; search and rescue; incident command system; and First Aid/CPR (American Heart Association certification). This course satisfies the Core Training requirements for our Citizen Corps program.
